Elchin Ali Ibrahimov


Elchin Ali Ibrahimov was born on the 15th of March, 1985 in Nehram village, Babek region, Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic. In 2002 – 2006 he studied at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Baku State University. In 2006 – 2009 he studied at the Faculty of the Turkish language and Literature, Gafgaz University and got his Master degree.
He worked as a head advisor in the State Agency for the Control of the Building Security at the Ministry of Emergency Cases of the Republic of Azerbaijan for a long while. He has ten-year state service experience. He is a state servant of the first degree. He has been awarded with different Certificates of Gratitude and Honorary Diplomas for his excellent activity and success for many times. Being the chairman of the Youth Association in the State Agency, he was an active organizer and participant of many of the events held within the framework of New Azerbaijan Party (NAP).
He has been a post graduate at the Department of the Turkic Languages of the Institute of Linguistics named after Nasimi in the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan since 2013.
He was assigned as the Executive Secretary (head of the Department) of “Turkology” Journal founded by the Presidium of the national Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan in 2016.
The scientific interests and research themes of E.A.Ibrahimov are: Turkology, Comparative Linguistics, Comparative Grammar of Turkic languages, Common language of Communication, etc. he is the author of 42 scientific articles and one teaching aid. He is the organizer and participant of most of the international and republican conferences. His articles were published in Turkey, the United States of America, the Russian Federation, Uzbekistan, Kirghizia, Albania, Romania and Poland.
He is married, has two children.

ur periodical will firmly continue the scientific and cultural traditions of the journal “Soviet turkology” which once enjoyed a wide popularity with the territory of former Soviet Union and international arena as well. In different times this journal was headed by distinguished scientists, such as, M. Shiraliyev, E.R.Tenishev, A.Akhundov and T.Hajiyev who did their best for it. Today by the requirements of globalization epoch the scientific space of the journal needs to be expanded furthermore. And it can’t be limited within the frame of the materials referring only Turkological linguistics and folklore. Besides Turkological linguistics, its readers are eager to see in it materials on ethnography, philosophy, history, literature, culture studies as well.
